In Memory Of Our Lost Ones...

The Rainbows Bridge Poem
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

"MAXINE"

(OCTOBER 15, 1998 - JANUARY 8, 2007)

Maxine was the daughter of Gretchen.

She is survived by her sister Lady Myers and 10 other siblings.

"GRETCHEN"

( ? - DECEMBER 12, 2005)

Gretchen was 16 yrs. old when passing on.

She gave birth to 2 litters of puppies,

10 in the first litter and 12 in the second.

Gretchen's 4th generation Grandmother

was the first German Shepherd to run on the shores of America.

She was the very large breed of German Shepherd.

"BABY"

We lost Baby right before Thanksgiving 2006.

She was a "Love Bird". She was very, very bonded

to Deb and thought of Deb as her mate.

Baby used to sing and chirp when Deb walked into the room.

She always got along with the other critters in the house and will be

sadly missed.

"MANGO"

We lost Mango around Xmas 2005. He was a beautiful "Sun Conure".

Mango had bonded to me and loved to chat online with me. He would sit

on my shoulder for hours and preen me. I still have shirts that

he had put holes in from preening.

Mango will also be sadly missed.

"Big Red" And "The Hen"

We lost "Big Red" this January 22, 2007.

"The Hen" followed him a couple days later. We believe she died from loneliness.

They were 9+ years old and lived together from the time they were peeps. They lived a ripe old age in chicken years

(usually 5 -7 years). They've shared their coop with all kinds of critters from chipmunks to mice to wild birds.

We miss hearing "Red" crowing in the mornings!
